A Fast Lane on the Information Super Highway

The explosion of the Internet is opening the world to a new digital economy and at the same time is building a digital divide.  Many do not experience the Internet phenomenon, especially those living in Sub-Sahara Africa.  Countries in that part of the world currently lack the adequate infrastructure necessary for the expansion of the Internet. Further, when such infrastructure does exist, it is often not reliable.  Equatorial Communications and its strategic partners are working to help close the digital divide.

The initiative brings affordable Internet connectivity, wireless cable, and telephony to customers located in developing countries of Africa (including remote villages) that have unreliable or non-existent telecommunication infrastructures, and connects these customers to the most robust networks of the world via satellite or wireless local loops – bypassing any terrestrial or infrastructural barriers.

In addition to providing an infrastructure, Equatorial Communications is working to build a customer base through a campaign designed to inform clients about the benefits of exploring and exploiting the Internet
